HY-Plugins HY-ESG
Tadashi Suginomori (HY-Plugins) is known to some for its exciting sequencer plugins that offer a lot. His talent for sequencers can also be seen here. HY-ESG is a free gate sequencer aka trance gate effect plugin with an interesting twist. Instead of a standard step sequencer, he uses a Euclidean sequencer that controls the gate effect and enables new advanced gating effects. You can find this section on the left with a wide range of different parameters.
You can set the number of steps, pulses, sequence duration as well as the direction (rotating, random, or restart at any step). Then, you have an ADSR envelope onboard that controls the volume. Here you adjust the shape of the triggered steps with the classic ADSR controls. On the right, you can change the output gain and adjust the mix knob.
Wild Modulation
It gets more exciting and wilder in the modulation section. The plugin features three modulation units that can either be an LFO or a sample & hold. With these, you can modulate the ADSR envelope, the sequencer controls, and more. If you modulate the sequencer parameters here, you quickly drift into very complex, experimental gate patterns with which you can achieve very creative results. HY-ESG can do more than just crazy things. It also masters classic trance gate effects.
