GMH Audio has today released Wave Destroyer, a free (pay what you want) distortion effect plugin compatible with digital audio workstations (DAW) on PC & Mac. Wave Destroyer is flexible to use thanks to its nice engine: input, pre-EQ, multimode drive, post-EQ & output section. The plugin offers a wide range of features that allows you to shape and manipulate frequencies.
Wave Destroyer features three distortion modes: saturate, distort, and destroy where each mode can be fine-tuned in detail: drive, asymmetry, and bias adjustments. At the beginning and at the end of the signal chain there is an EQ with five adjustable frequency bands for pre- and post-distortion adjustments. Plus, it comes with input and output gain adjustments, oversampling, a DC filter, a mix control, and a bypass switch.
WD can be described as a versatile distortion plugin because, with all three distortion algorithms, it covers a wide sonic range: simple saturation, fuzz-like up to crazy distortions.
The plugin can be downloaded for free from the official website. Simply enter zero as the amount that allows you to download it for free. Of course, you can donate something for development and future updates by entering a higher price.
GMH Audio Wave Destroyer is available as a free download for PC & Mac in 64-bit VST3/AU plugin format.
