Full Bucket Music has published Ny, a new 100% free Synthesizer plugin that simulates the vintage Korg Lambda ES-50 polyphonic ensemble from 1987.
This is another fascinating free synth plugin from Björn Arlt, the developer behind FBM.
Full Bucket Music Ny
Ny is a 100% free synth plugin that simulates the vintage Korg Lambda ES-50, a polyphonic ensemble Synthesizer from 1987. The Lambda ES-50 fell under the “Preset Synthesizer” category as its oscillators were based on ready-to-use timbres, aka presets generated by synthesis.
The synth features 64 voices of polyphony, so 16 more voices than the original, which had 48 voices. According to Björn, the developer, it’s a close simulation of the original hardware.
Like the original, it features two types of sounds, percussive (electric piano, clavi, piano, and harmonics), and ensemble (brass, organ, choir, strings I, and strings II)) sections. Each instrument of each section has individual level control.
Then, you get various sections to tweak your sounds, including tune, accent, tone, volume, and more. There is also a chorus (phase) effect, individually routable to the sections, giving your sounds a thicker and wider character. Ny offers a resizable user interface and has full MIDI support, including MIDI CC for all parameters.
It’s another excellent release from Full Bucket Music.
Full Bucket Music NY is available now as a free download. It runs on macOS (Intel + native Apple Silicon) and Windows as a 32-bit/64-bit VST2, VST3, AU, and CLAP plugin.
