KV331 Audio announced today that they are offering SynthMaster Player as a free download for a limited time. It regularly costs $29 USD, works as a VST/AU/AAX plugin, and ships with over 1800 high-quality presets.
Attention, do not compare the Player Version with the free version of the Player version. This has over 1000 more sounds to offer.
SynthMaster Player
KV331 Audio has three versions of its SynthMaster Synthesizer plugin in its portfolio. SynthMaster is the flagship with multiple synthesis forms, filters, etc… SynthMaster One is the wavetable decoupling and Player is the slimmed-down version for musicians who are less interested in sound design. The latter offers the same core as the full version but simplified in features for players.
It comes with 1800 presets which is a lot. Even if the built-in player engine does not go as deep as the full version, the user has many possibilities to interact with the sounds. Each preset has 8 knobs and 2 XY pads pre-assigned by the sound designer. With these, you can match the sounds to your tracks at any time. These can be linked also to MIDI controllers easily via MIDI Learn. It also supports MicroTuning and offers multiple skins.
Among others, Arksun, Aiyn Zahev, BT, BigTone, Frank ‘Xenox’ Neumann, Rob Lee, and others have built sounds for SM Player. All known sound designers.

Crossgrade/Upgrade

Either way, this is a great deal for electronic musicians. 1800 presets are fun for a long time.
